Cellular Uplink

The term Uplink is used in satellite telecommunications that refers to a link form the ground station to the satellite. Cellular uplink refers to satellite telecommunication pattern that is related with mobile connectivity.

How to increase cellular uplink capacity?

On the basis of the scheduling policy that the base station adapts for communication with the satellite, increasing cellular uplink capacity can be attained in the following ways-

Multiple Input Multiple Output tools will help in enhancing the cellular link capacity. This is facilitated by the mobile stations being able to transmit in a higher MCS or higher modulation and coding scheme. This allows the transmission of the same quantity of data in less available radio resources. The radio resources that are left free can thereby be transmitted to other terminals. With this enhancement of capacity more users can be served within the same average rates. This increases customer base service with the different operators availing the opportunity to serve more number of customers in limited capacity environment. This reduces the operational expenses of the mobile company increasing their profitability.
One more means of enhancing cellular uplink capacity is by scheduling higher throughput to users rather than sharing the capacity with more users. This will allow cellular operators to facilitate its premium customers with services that require higher throughput on the uplink.

Benefits of increasing cellular uplink capacity

It helps in the enhancement of coverage as a result of diversity gain and combining gain. Increased uplink capacity due to multiple input multiple output tools directly translates in to increased cell coverage.

It helps to balance the difference in transmit power and the base station. This will further enhance the uplink downlink capacity of the cellular provider.

Cellular uplink enables cost reduction of telecommunication aspects.

It enhances both single transmission and dual transmission of satellite links.

Increase in cellular uplink capacity will help in the rural augmentation of WiFi mesh Network.

It will provide low cost connectivity cellular services as the operational cost of the cellular service providers gets reduced to a large extent.

An increase in the video uplink capacity will help in the overcoming of certain persisting drawbacks in telecommunication network like high installation and recurring costs, available of reliable back channel vendors, electrical disparity.

With so many beneficial aspects linked with the up gradation of cellular uplink capacity it becomes impertinent that an increase in the capacity will be able to solve all the persisting problems that are being faced due to increase in the demand for efficient network connectivity.
